Ulcer with my Koi

I have been struggling with ulcer on my Koi. I have gotten in under control with several treatments of Potassium Permanganate. However, I was wondering if there was a additive I could use that would prevent this. I notice on one of my large Koi (30") that she has some areas that appear to be pink (she is scaleless). I think this might be the early signs of ulcers.
