Pond deicer thermometer not working

Received my order for the Patio Pond deicer and the floating thermometer. The thermometer seems to be broken, the red alcohol column has separated and does not move from 70 degrees F. Naturally, I have discarded the packing, etc. May I return this piece of equipment for an exchange?

Can the Titanium Heater be used to heat a 750 cu ft pond. What is the highest water temperature it would be able to reach?

De-icer for in-ground pond, 50 gallon

plastic, in-ground, 50 gal, 18″ deep fresh water, several frogs. ice was 4″ thick last year. doughnut de-icer was overpowered. don’t need water warm - just not frozen. would like a heater I could set as low as 40 to 50 degrees.
